A smith in Hedeby worked one blade at a time and signed it. We do the same thing with a hot nozzle and a spool of carbon-filled nylon.

Every part here is printed, not moulded. That means no tooling, no minimum order, and no reason to freeze a design that could be better next month. When a customer finds a failure mode, the geometry changes and the revision number moves. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be justified.

It also means each part can be built like nothing subtractive can — closed lattice cores, internal channels, wall thicknesses that vary across a single face. The knotwork on the outside is not decoration. It is where we put the material.

One material, chosen once

Carbon-fibre-filled nylon 6, fused filament, hardened nozzle. Not the easiest thing to print, and the only one we run.

That Z number is the one nobody prints on a spec sheet, so here it is: a fused part is weaker between layers than across them. Every part is oriented so load runs across the layers, and that orientation decision is most of the design work. The filament is black the whole way through, so an abrasion scar stays black instead of flashing white. Hardware is stainless — nothing structural rests on a printed thread.

Where it gets made

A row of enclosed machines in one room, running overnight because that is when the power is cheap. A full plate takes about nine hours. Carbon-filled nylon drinks water straight out of the air, so the filament goes from a heated dry box to the nozzle and never sits out in between.

Then supports off, edges deburred, hardware pressed in, and a lot of squinting at first layers. A part that leaves here has been handled by a person at least four times. Anything with a lifted corner, or a seam sitting on a wear face, does not leave at all.
